The Baby Nest wants you to reap the benefits of all of her time and money in discovering cloth diapers! She knows first hand how difficult it is to start cloth diapering based on what others say.
The Baby Nest knows how hard it is to choose a diaper for your baby based on looks and description from a website. You really need to feel the diaper, talk about the pros and cons of each brand and then TRY IT on your baby. All of our babies are shaped differently, which means that what diapers that worked for one family, may not work for yours.
The Baby Nest’s “Cloth Bums” program is available for families to try cloth diapering and determine which method fits their needs. We have designed this program with the intention of you having a complete experience with your trial and giving you the opportunity to get a feel for cloth diapering as a system and get a sense of a variety of styles and combinations.
THE PROGRAM:
• Try out cloth diapering for two weeks.
• $40.00 for the 2 weeks rental. (approximately what you will spend in disposables)
• When you return the kit, you will receive a gift certificate to apply to your purchase for your own cloth diapers

QUESTIONS::
What if I lose or damage a diaper?
If you lose a diaper, you will have to pay the replacement cost. If a diaper is damaged due to 'user error' (ie - you bleach a diaper), you will have to pay the replacement cost. If a diaper is damaged due to 'normal wear and tear', you are not responsible for damages.
Is this sanitary?
Yes! We will require that diapers are returned clean, and we will wash the diapers upon their return to ensure they have been cleaned properly.
We use ALLEN’S detergent in the wash (a mild, cloth diaper-friendly detergent), and we add Tea Tree Oil, this essential oil has anti-fungal properties, and a fragrant scent. Diapers will be sunned (weather-permitting) to remove germs, odors and stains, and they will be run through the dryer on high heat to kill anything that might be lingering (highly unlikely!).
***When you wash your own diapers, you do not need to perform all of the above steps -- washing diapers can be as simple as washing any other load of laundry. We are using this routine to ensure that the diapers are clean and sanitary.***
How will I know what to do with the diapers?
Full washing instructions will be provided, though we promise you, it is remarkably easy. Please remember that you can ask us questions any time. We use every cloth diaper in the store!
What sizes are available?
This program is geared towards new parents, so the majority of the packages are suited to babies weighing between 8 - 15 pounds (we generally recommend waiting until your baby's umbilical cord stump has falled off because the covers that come with the program don't have umbilical notches).
Packages for larger children weighing between 15 - 25 lbs are available, but they are fewer in number.
How long are the diapers used for?
The diapers are tracked, and after 6 months, the diapers will be taken out of rotation, and replaced with new diapers. We are doing this to ensure that participants in this program will be using diapers that are in good shape.
How do I sign up?
Loan programs must be booked in advance, you must pay in advance to secure your spot. You can either book a loan program over the phone or in-person. Spots are filled a first-come, first-serve basis.
Due to the anticipated popularity of this program, we must ensure diaper are picked up and returned in a timely fashion. If you are late picking up the diapers, the loan program will not be extended. If you are late returning the diapers, a late fee ($5 per day) will be applied.
